PHOTOS: Christina Eyimofe Stallings Nigeria’s First Air Hostess

Christina Eyimofe Stallings holds a remarkable place in Nigeria’s aviation history as the country’s first air hostess. She was born on December 22 1929 in Kaduna in northern Nigeria and became a pioneering figure at a time when air travel was still in its early stages in West Africa.

Stallings began her career as an air stewardess with the West African Airways Corporation also known as WAAC. This regional airline later grew into what became Nigeria Airways. Her work placed her at the center of modern aviation in the years just before Nigeria achieved independence.

A notable highlight of her career came on October 1 1958 when she was reportedly greeted by Nigeria’s first Prime Minister Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa after the inaugural WAAC flight. This event marked an important moment for Nigeria’s emerging aviation industry and highlighted the part women like Stallings played in presenting the nation as forward looking and modern. While this account appears in later tributes it would benefit from confirmation in contemporary records.

Later in life Christina Eyimofe Stallings moved to the United States where she lived until her death on March 27 2013 in San Francisco California. She was buried at Skylawn Memorial Park. Her pioneering achievements opened doors for Nigerian women in aviation and public service and her life continues to inspire those who follow in her path.

Nollywood actress, Jumoke Odetola, has announced that she has dumped acting for ministerial work.

It was reports that Jumoke made the announcement while addressing fans’ concerns about her disappearance from the screen.

In a post via her Instagram page on Saturday, the movie star said she is now a minister of God.

While asking the public for prayers, Jumoke Odetola said God had compelled her to work for Him.

She said, “I’m now a minister of God. I am entering a new season with God. I need all the prayers in this season.

“When God compels you, you may delay, but you cannot escape the call.”

What if your child has everything money can buy, but doesn’t have YOU?

A child needs more than school fees, expensive clothes, gadgets and a comfortable home.

They need your time.
They need your attention.
They need your affection.
They need to know that they are loved, heard and valued.

💰 Money can be earned again.

❤️ But once a child’s trust is broken, rebuilding it may not be easy.

🕰️ And once childhood is gone, you can never buy it back.

Don’t become so busy providing for your children that you forget to actually be present in their lives.

Because one day, your child may remember the money you provided—but they may remember even more clearly the moments you were never there.

Having a big position does not give you the right to disrespect people.

Today, you may be comfortable while someone else is struggling. But life can change unexpectedly. Never use your current advantage to humiliate someone who has less than you.

True greatness is not measured by what you have in your bank account, the car you drive, or the position you occupy.

Your real character is revealed by how you treat people who cannot give you anything in return.

Be humble. Be respectful. Treat people with dignity.

You are not better than anyone simply because you have more than they do.
