The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled a social media drug network in Lagos, arresting two distributors who packaged cannabis as imported Christmas cookies.
The distributors, identified as Deji Adesanya and Olubiyi Majekodunmi, had imported Canadian loud, a potent strain of cannabis, along with branded sachets printed with cookie and snack labels to conceal retail quantities of the drug.

The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, said the syndicate operated via a whatsapp group used to take and dispatch orders.
“Following credible intelligence about the activities of the syndicate which operates and distributes through a whatsapp platform, NDLEA operatives on Saturday 22nd November 2025 raided their apartment at Ojulari street, Ikate area of Lekki.
“A large quantity of the designer sachets and 5 kilograms of loud were recovered from them at the point of their arrest,” the statement read.
A separate operation in Mushin on November 27 led to the arrest of Philip Ucheka, 38, who was receiving 110 pouches of Canadian loud weighing 55.6kg.

Three vehicles tied to his distribution activities were also confiscated.
At a courier company in Lagos on November 27, a teddy bear shipped from Thailand was found to contain 100 grams of loud, while 548 tramadol capsules hidden in Vitamin C and magnesium bottles bound for the United Kingdom were recovered at another logistics company the next day.
Along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, NDLEA operatives arrested Wasiu Kareem, 55, with large quantities of 8,000 ampoules pentazocine injection, 590 bottles of codeine syrup, 1,500 co-codamol tablets and 9,900 tramadol capsules.
On November 24, a raid on Ipe forest in the Akoko south east area of Ondo state led to the arrest of seven suspects and the recovery of 3,077kg of skunk.
The suspects are identified as John Ede, Ede Ndubuisi, Ikenna Abe, Eze Chukwuma, Maduabuchi Odo, Nnaji Chudubem and Gorge Okowor.

Similarly, in Kogi state, operatives arrested Anthony Sylvester, 49, along the Okene-Lokoja highway on November 26 with 649kg of skunk concealed in a truck.

Officers at the NDLEA Seme special area command carried out a separate raid on a warehouse in Ashipa, near the Seme border, recovering 487 blocks of skunk weighing 243.5kg and arresting Abubakar Shuaibu, 33.

In Kano, NDLEA operatives arrested Tsalha Alasan, 47, with 137kg of skunk along the Zaria-Kano road on November 24.
In Bauchi state, three suspects; Godspower Appeal, Ernest Upong and Godday Chukwudi were intercepted with 322 blocks of skunk (209kg) at Fanshanu village in Toro local government area.

A black Toyota Highlander (registration ABJ 533 EA) reportedly used to convey the drugs was also impounded.
On November 29, John Ekoja, 51, was arrested along the Abuja-Jos highway with 210.15kg of skunk.

Along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, a couple identified as Abdullahi Abubakar, 45, and Jamila Abdullahi, 35 were arrested with 725 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition hidden in a sack of maize.

Another suspect, Awwal Sabiu, 20, was arrested on November 28 at the Abuja-Kaduna tollgate with 400 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
NDLEA chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), commended the Lagos, Ondo, Oyo, Kogi, Kano, Kaduna, Seme and Bauchi commands for the coordinated operations.
He urged officers to maintain the agency’s balanced approach combining enforcement with community-focused education.
The Nigerian Army has successfully rescued 12 teenage girls abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Mussa District of Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
The victims, aged between 15 and 20, were kidnapped on 23 November, 2025 while harvesting crops on their family farmlands and were freed on Saturday, 29 November, following a swift, intelligence-led operation by troops of Operation HADIN KAI in the southern Borno axis.
The Army in a statement on Saturday night, November 29, said the rescued girls have been evacuated to a secure military facility where they are receiving comprehensive medical care, psychological support and debriefing.
“Upon completion of these processes, they will be formally reunited with their families. Their recovery has brought immense relief to the community, which had been gripped by fear following the abduction,” the statement read.
“The rescued victims include Fatima Shaibu (17), Fatima Umaru (15), Hauwa Abubakar (18), Saliha Muhammed (15), Sadiya Umaru (17), Amira Babel (15), Zara Adamu (17), Nana Shaibu (15), Zainab Musa (18), Zainab Muhammed (17), Jamila Saidu (15) and Hauwa Hamidu (17).
“The military high command commended the doggedness of the troops for their swift response and acknowledged the crucial support of security stakeholders and local informants whose timely information enabled the successful rescue.
“Troops continue to pursue ISWAP remnants across southern Borno to prevent further attacks and safeguard civilians.
“The Nigerian Army calls on communities to continue supporting ongoing operations by providing credible and timely information, emphasizing that collaborative efforts are essential to defeating terrorism and ensuring lasting security.”
Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a police officer operating alongside an armed militia group during a communal clash in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, November 30, 2025 said troops neutralised four armed militia members and recovered weapons during an operation launched in response to renewed communal violence in Usmanu village in Karim Lamido.
According to the statement, troops received intelligence showing a renewed escalation of an old land dispute involving the Shomo and Wurkun communities.
The security alerts indicated rising armed confrontations and destruction of homes, prompting the military to deploy personnel to stabilise the area.
“Troops of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have neutralised four armed militia members and recovered weapons during a rapid and coordinated response to renewed communal violence in Usmanu Village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State,” the statement read.
“The operation followed credible intelligence indicating a resurgence of long-standing land disputes between the Shomo and Wurkun communities. The dispute escalated into armed clashes, resulting in the destruction of property, including the burning of houses.
“In response, 6 Brigade immediately deployed forces to restore order and prevent further deterioration of the security situation.
“Upon reaching the area, the troops came under fire from armed assailants emerging from the Fadama axis. A brief but fierce exchange ensued, during which the soldiers neutralised four of the attackers.
“Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of three dane guns, one fabricated AK-47 rifle, twenty-five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and two motorcycles.
“In a development that underscores the complexity of the conflict, one personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) found operating alongside the armed militia was arrested. He is currently undergoing further investigation and profiling to determine his level of involvement.
“Commenting on the operation, the Commander, 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their prompt response, bravery, and adherence to professional rules of engagement.

Armed bandit terrorists on Sunday morning attacked Ejiba, a town in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to Sahara Reporters, eyewitnesses told Egbe Mekun Platform, a community news outlet, that the assault occurred during a church service at a new Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
Adegboyega Oguns, who was present at the church, said congregants fled in panic as the attackers struck.
Unfortunately, the church pastor, popularly known as Orlando, his wife, and several other individuals were abducted during the raid.
“It’s a new Cherubim and Seraphim church. The pastor popularly called Orlando and wife with some others have been kidnapped,” he wrote on Egbe Mekun Parrot platform on Facebook.

Recall that on Saturday, a group of terrorists launched an attack along the Isanlu Makutu–Idofin corridor in the Yagba East Local Government Area of the state, leaving residents and travellers in a state of fear.
The attackers struck suddenly on Saturday afternoon, causing people in the area to scamper for safety.
Meanwhile, the exact number of victims abducted during the incident has not yet been confirmed, as details remain sketchy.
Local sources told Sahara Reporters that the situation had heightened tension across nearby communities, with many residents staying indoors while travellers were diverting routes to avoid the troubled stretch of road.
