Imagine a time when:
• Governors lived in their personal houses
• Leaders refused reimbursements from government funds
• Public service was not a gateway to wealth accumulation
• Integrity mattered more than influence

Chief Adekunle Ajasin served as Governor without changing his wardrobe.
Bisi Onabanjo still wrote columns as a sitting Governor.
Bola Ige, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, lived a life far from luxury excess.

These were men who built institutions, not empires for themselves.
They invested in education, infrastructure, and the future — not in private estates and luxury lifestyles.

Today, as debates arise over alleged properties and wealth linked to past leaders, one question echoes louder than ever:

Where did we lose the values that once defined leadership?
